Metaphorum is now registered as a co-operative.
We chose to become a co-operative as we believe it resonates with the fundamental principles of Stafford’s work. A co-operative is a democratically structured organisation which is owned and controlled by its members, which seems far more in tune with basic VSM principles like autonomy and cohesion. In a co-operative, the constitution ensures that System 5 must always reflect the “will of the people”.
Everyone currently associated with Metaphorum is invited to join as a member of Metaphorum Cooperative Ltd.
If you attended a conference, or have graduated from one of our training courses, you will have been made a member for one year automatically.
Membership is open to everyone who agrees to support the aims and objectives of the cooperative. This costs £30 per year, which covers administrative costs.
The AGM – to which all members are invited – has ultimate authority and ensures that the cooperative is controlled democratically by its members. At the AGM the members vote in a Council which will then have the mandate to run Metaphorum until the following AGM.
